Awakening as a Sacred Homecoming

It’s More Like A Spiral

I find myself reflecting on how the Awakening Process continues to ripple through my life in ways both subtle and profound. Maybe you’re feeling that too? That gentle (or not-so-gentle!) nudge to peel back yet another layer of who you thought you were, only to find something even more true beneath it.

Awakening is not a “one and done” moment—it’s more like a spiral. You circle back to the same themes, but each time from a deeper, wiser perspective. It’s a homecoming, not just to the bright light of awake awareness, but to the embodied experience of being fully uniquely you, here and now expanding to embrace the paradox of Self and no-Self.

What Awakening Might Look Like (and Feel Like)

You may have noticed it begins quietly. A shift in perception. A book that resonates more deeply than expected. A moment in nature where everything feels still and connected. Or maybe it arrives with thunder—an unexpected life event that shakes your foundation.

Whatever form it takes, the awakening process often includes:

  • A dissolving of the old ways of being
  • A re-evaluation of what truly matters
  • A longing to live in alignment with something deeper and more real

Common Threads on the Journey

Over the years, I’ve noticed certain patterns many of us experience along the path:

  1. Disillusionment – Realizing that the external world (and sometimes our inner world) isn’t built on the truth we once believed in.
  2. Release – Letting go of beliefs, roles, and relationships that no longer resonate.
  3. Emergence – Feeling more spacious, authentic, and connected to our true Self.

Making Space for the Sacred

With all that’s required to function in our modern world, it’s easy to brush aside this inner work—but it’s also exactly what the world is asking of us right now. Here are a few gentle practices that might support you:

  • Take quiet time each day to listen—not just with your ears, but with your whole being.

  • Journal what’s rising, without needing it to make sense right away.

  • Tune into the rhythms of nature—She often reflects what’s happening within.

  • Connect with others walking a similar path. There’s power in shared resonance and reflection.

An Invitation

So, here’s my invitation for today: Can you soften into your process, whatever it looks like right now? Can you befriend the discomfort, the expansion, and the mystery all at once?

You don’t have to do it perfectly. You only have to be willing, find your “Yes”
and take your next step into the Great Mystery.
