I am pleased and excited to announce the successful completion of the final day of filming for The Woman’s Rite documentary. This last phase went deep into the exploration of how ageism affects women and the profound importance of community and support on the journey to vibrant and empowered elderhood.
I facilitated a women’s gathering discussion addressing how societal norms contribute to girls and women seeing themselves from the outside in, rather than the inside out. Interviews documented individual perspectives of internalized ageism and how to challenge and help to transform society’s view and expectations of women as we age as well as our own.
Special moments included documenting a group of women demonstrating the collaborative joy of baking a cake together, inciting laughter while also sharing our wisdom about important issues that affect women of all ages.
With filming complete, our project has entered the post-production phase.
We anticipate launching the documentary next spring.
I’ll keep you updated as we move forward!
