The Guest House
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Hello Bright Light,
Here at the Life Blessing Institute the month of April was dedicated to the High Vibe Success Key Cultivate Unconditional Trust. A response we received to the recent eZine Soul Stream Tip: Trust Fall Into the Unknown reminds us that it’s not always easy:
“I would like to hear more about when we know we are leaning into our growth edges, where we know the real green light is what may feel like a red light in the moment. Leaning into our fears and challenges can feel very tense and agitating, even if (especially if!) transcendence and greater resilience are imminent. How do we support ourselves best in the midst of radical surrender which in the moment feels like so much suffering?”
So, you’ve listened to your inner knowing. You are confidently taking action on the green light of soul aligned guidance, only to find yourself trust-falling onto a painful path that is difficult to bear. You know, really know, that the only way out is through, but this doesn’t make the going any easier.
What now? How can you best support yourself and others in the midst of discomfort on the way to breakthrough?
Today’s blog post is dedicated to an essential, and often overlooked, tool; to help you through moments of uncomfortable intensity when they arise.
“Encourage whatever wants to fall away, change, transform within you to have its way…
Move through this time with strength and grace by remembering you have come
to this planet to evolve and change.” – Sherrie Dillard
SOUL STREAM TIP:
SOURCES OF SUPPORT FOR EMPOWERED RESILIENCE
Before reading further, take a moment to center yourself and invite this tip in, first as a thought-form and then into your energetic and physical bodies. Like a pebble tossed into a pond drifting down and down, allow it to settle into the center of your multidimensional being where you will remember it when needed.
Be Prepared: Identify (or update) your sources of support before you need them. When dysregulated by intense and difficult life conditions and reaction patterns, we sometimes need to tap into our sources of support for comfort and regrounding. Yet, when in those states, it can be difficult to even remember what those sources are.
I recommend all my clients identify their support resources ahead of time by telling me about them. Then I recommend writing a list and keeping it nearby for when the going gets tough.
At the end of this blog post you will find an invitation (and link to instruction graphic) to create this list of support resources, to be available when you are experiencing life challenges of any kind.
If you are a Practitioner, Coach, or Healer, consider making time to have this conversation with your clients when you begin their work with them.
I recommend one of the first support resources on your list be a reminder to Start by Reframing. Zoom out in order to see the bigger picture.
Have you ever received a massage and afterwards
felt worse as toxins were released?
Often, emotional detoxing on the way to a breakthrough is evidence the healing purification process is working! Instead of something wrong, this temporary discomfort is evidence of something right.
The way out is through. No matter what’s happening, no matter how life appears or how you feel in the moment, the Real You is already alright.
Practicing My Own Tip
Earlier today, a big project with lots of moving parts (each requiring my time and attention) was suddenly delivered onto my plate of things to do. This triggered an almost immediate sense of overwhelm and a bit of panic. My stress levels headed up, up, up!
Using the very tip I’m suggesting to you today, I reached out to one of my trusted sources of support.
She helped me break down the pieces to see how I could engage in collaboration and that I don’t have to do it all alone (an old pattern of mine). With this new realization, I could breathe normally again.
Whether moving forward to breakthrough, needing help with a challenging situation, or dealing with everyday stressors, this support list is a must have for meeting Rumi’s unexpected visitors with patience and trust.

Mother Nature’s beauty is one of the most potent sources I turn to for support and comfort. These photos were taken at yesterday’s visit to a tulip farm near Salem, Oregon, feasting on a riot of color and life.
