On The Path Together

On The Path Together

Recently I had the opportunity to embrace my fear of public speaking, once again answering the call from Life to summon the courage to embrace the unknown.  When Rick Archer asked me to be interviewed on “Buddha at the Gas Pump” I said yes, with no reservations.  However, when it came to  the day to be interviewed, my body and mind had other ideas about that decision.  My heart raced like I was being chased by an imaginary saber toothed tiger until our conversation began. With Rick’s kindness and compassionate interview style, my anxiety eased and soon melted away.

As we talked I shared how my calling to contribute to the creation of a better world has evolved as I have walked, trudged, climbed, crawled, danced and ran along the path of spiritual awakening. Currently, this calling is manifesting through the Women’s Rite film project, which aims to empower and honor Elder Wisdom.

Rick exemplifies a joyfully empowered wise man, passionately engaging in his work at 75. You can explore our discussion by clicking here. Be sure to check out the multitude of interviews of “ordinary” spiritually awakening people that Rick and his wife Irene have compiled over the years. Or, you can click on the image below to watch the interview here.

I  agreed to do this interview because I wanted to accept Life’s challenge to put myself out there in a way that added my voice to the millions of people dedicated to spiritual awakening and creating a better world.  After the interview, I found myself wondering if the energy beneath my words had reached anyone in the spirit in which it was intended.

Not too long after the interview was posted, a kind soul named Ralph, who listened to the interview, shared two poems that deeply touched my heart. I felt seen and they so moved me I want to share them here.  Perhaps they will resonate with you as well. I recommend reading them slowly, allowing yourself to be fully present for a few moments to absorb the message.

The Awakening Process will ultimately liberate our  hearts and minds from the fixations and fears that bind and inhibit our joy, freedom and ability to be a light in the world. This is our opportunity for peace of mind and happiness in daily living. This is our great work and most important contribution we can make to the soul of humanity.

Just as Rick’s kindness and compassion made it easier for me to embrace and transcend the fear I was experiencing, let us make the way easier by supporting and inspiring each other along the way.
